Connect Google Meet under Preferences → Connected apps. Connecting the account does not create a meeting. You choose or paste the Meet later, in the event Location (Lieu) step, for a Virtual or Hybrid event.
Connect Google Meet
- Open Preferences. In the account menu this page is Settings. In the organizer menu it is Preferences. You can also choose Connect Google Account in the event builder Location section.
- Finish Google sign-in in the popup and allow Google Meet access. The popup closes and you stay on Preferences or the event form.
- The page shows Connected (and the Google email, when Google returns one). That is not the same as creating a meeting.
This connection belongs to your personal account. Organization settings do not include Google Meet.
Disconnect Google Meet
- Open Preferences → Connected apps.
- Choose Disconnect next to Google Meet.
- Confirm Disconnect Google Meet from your account?
Wanepass then stops creating or listing meetings on that Google account. You can connect again later. You can also remove Wanepass in your Google account.
Add a Google Meet to an event
- In the event builder, open Location (Lieu).
- Choose Virtual or Hybrid. In person and TBA do not need a meeting link. For hybrid, you can also search a place, pick a recent venue, or Add this place.
- Under Meeting link, choose Google Meet.
- If Google is not connected, choose Connect Google Account and finish the popup first.
- Set the link in one of three ways:
- Create new meeting — Wanepass creates the Meet now and fills the join URL on the form. The room code is filled when the link includes it.
- Select existing meeting — pick an upcoming meeting on the connected account. Delete meeting removes it from that Google account after you confirm.
- Custom / personal link — paste a Meet URL (
https://meet.google.com/abc-defg-hij).
Saving the event keeps the link already on the form. Wanepass does not create another meeting when that link is already filled.
If create, list, or delete fails, the form still works. Paste a link or try again later.
Optional Online instructions stay on this section. They appear with the join details and in email.
Public join link
Make the join link public is optional. It is off until you check it.
- Checked: visitors see Join Google Meet on the event page without an account.
- Unchecked: the public page says Register to get the join link. People who already have a ticket see Open pass or Join via Wanepass on the ticket and the order confirmation. That pass opens Google Meet. The confirmation email uses the same pass link, not the raw
meet.google.comURL.
Who can register depends on the tickets you set up (free, paid, or RSVP approval). See Setting up ticket types.
For attendees
Open the ticket from My Tickets or the confirmation email, then tap Open pass or Join via Wanepass. Google Meet opens from that pass.
The confirmation email, the order confirmation, and My Tickets use that Wanepass pass link. They do not include the raw meet.google.com URL. After a transfer is accepted, only the new holder can open the pass — the previous join token and QR stop working. See Transferring a ticket.
If the organizer checked Make the join link public, Join Google Meet is also on the event page.
Troubleshooting
- The popup closed or you cancelled. Choose Connect Google Account again. You stay on the same page.
- Status says Reconnect. Disconnect Google Meet in Preferences, then connect it again.
- The meeting was not created. Paste a Custom / personal link, or disconnect and connect again in Preferences.
- The link looks like a sign-in page. Paste the real Meet URL (
https://meet.google.com/…), not a Google login link. - Meeting connections are not configured. Connecting is unavailable on this environment. Paste a join link instead.
