Promo codes and access codes

Create percent or fixed coupons, limit how often they can be used, and unlock hidden ticket tiers.

Codes live on the event. A promo code lowers the price when the buyer enters it. An access code reveals hidden tickets, such as a VVIP tier, and can also carry a discount.

Automatic sale prices that need no code are a different tool. See Automatic event discounts.

Create a code

  1. Open your event → Tickets → Promotions.
  2. Under Promo codes, click Add code.
  3. Enter the code buyers will type.
  4. Choose the type:
    • Percent — a percent off.
    • Fixed — an amount off, in the charge currency.
    • Access — unlock only, with no price change.
  5. Choose All tickets or the tiers the discount applies to.
  6. Under Unlock hidden tickets, select hidden tiers this code should reveal. If the event has no hidden tiers, that list stays empty.
  7. Set Max uses (leave it empty for unlimited), optional start and end, and leave Active on.
  8. Click Save code.

Save the event before adding codes if the panel asks you to. Deactivate stops new uses. Orders already placed stay as they are.

Copy link copies a public event URL with ?promo= and this code. Share that link so buyers land with the code applied.

Hidden and invite-only tiers

On Principal, set a ticket’s visibility to Hidden when it should not appear for everyone (for example VVIP). It stays off the public list until a valid code unlocks it.

Opening the event with ?promo=YOURCODE applies that code on the public page. A banner confirms the access code, and the hidden tickets it unlocks are listed with the others.

At checkout

The same code is checked when the buyer holds a ticket and again when they place the order. A hidden tier without a valid code cannot be held or purchased. If the code is missing or no longer valid, checkout asks for a valid access code.

For a discount code, the buyer can also type it in the Promo code field. The order summary shows the discount, and the continue button uses the reduced total. See Using a promo code at checkout.
