An automatic discount lowers the price during a sale window. Buyers do not enter a code. Use a promo code when the offer should stay hidden until someone types it at checkout.
Where to set it
- Open your event → Tickets.
- Open the Promotions tab. Principal is for ticket types, currency, and payment methods.
- Under Discount, click Add discount.
- Save the event first if the panel asks you to. Discounts are stored on the event, not in a draft.

Percent or fixed amount
- Percent — for example 10% off the ticket price.
- Amount — a fixed amount off, in the event’s charge currency.
Choose All tickets or pick specific tiers. You can set a start, an end, and a max number of uses. Leave the end empty for no end date. Times use your browser clock; the hint shows the event timezone.
Overlapping automatic discounts do not stack. The largest saving on that ticket wins.
Turn a discount off with Deactivate. Existing orders keep the price they paid.
What buyers see
On the public event page the sale price replaces the list price. The original price is struck through, and a badge shows the offer (for example −10% or the amount off). No code field is required for this price.
The reduced price is what checkout uses for that ticket. A separate promo code, if the buyer has one, is entered later — see Using a promo code at checkout.
