Understanding 3D Secure and bank verification

Why your bank asks you to verify a payment, and what to do if it hangs or fails.

3D Secure (also called SCA, "Verified by Visa", or your bank's own verification screen) is an extra check your bank adds to confirm it's really you making the payment. Wanepass doesn't control this step — your card issuer does.

What to expect

  1. After you submit your card, your bank may open a short verification screen (a code sent by SMS, a banking-app approval, or a biometric prompt).
  2. Complete that step in the same browser tab — closing it or switching apps can cancel the verification.
  3. You're returned to Wanepass, which then confirms the result with your bank. This confirmation can take a few extra seconds after the redirect.

If the verification screen doesn't appear or seems stuck

  • Disable pop-up blockers and try again — some banks open verification in a new window.
  • Make sure you're on a stable connection; a dropped connection during verification can leave the payment in a pending state.
  • Wait on the confirmation page rather than resubmitting — see I paid but I don't see my ticket.

If verification fails or times out

Your bank may decline the charge if verification isn't completed in time. No ticket is issued and nothing further is charged. Try again with the same card once verification succeeds, or use Card declined at checkout for other card issues.

This is a bank security feature, not a Wanepass hold

Wanepass never asks you to verify a payment outside your bank's own screen. If you see a verification prompt that doesn't look like your bank's usual page, stop and contact your bank directly.
