Wanepass charges a platform fee only on paid tickets. The fee is 3.5% per paid ticket (3.5% of the ticket price, with no fixed per-ticket amount). The same 3.5% applies in other currencies. Guests pay the charge currency you pick when you set prices — see Choosing your currency.
You choose who pays the Wanepass platform fee when you create a ticket type:
- Buyer pays the fee — the 3.5% platform fee is included in the total shown on event listings. Stripe processing is not added to the buyer total.
- Organizer absorbs the fee — the buyer pays the listed price. The 3.5% platform fee is deducted from your payout.
The buyer always sees the total before they pay.
You are the seller. Ticket buyers pay your Stripe account. Wanepass is the platform and collects 3.5% as an application fee.
Stripe, our payment processor, charges a credit card fee (typically 2.9% + 30 cents). The platform fee is on top of the Stripe fee. Stripe’s fee is deducted from your payout, not from Wanepass. That typical rate is not a guaranteed rate — see Stripe’s pricing.
To net $X you must price above X (3.5% + Stripe).
Optional organizer tax
You can add an optional tax (name + rate) at the organization level, and override it per event. Tax is the organizer’s responsibility: Wanepass does not collect or remit tax for sellers. The tax portion of a payment is paid to your Stripe account with the rest of the ticket funds. Platform fees are calculated on the ticket subtotal, not on tax.

These figures are the Wanepass platform fee only. Stripe card-processing is extra and always comes out of the organizer’s payout. The buyer-pays toggle does not surcharge Stripe.

Free and RSVP tickets
There is no platform fee on free or RSVP tickets.
How card payouts work (Stripe Connect Standard)
Paid card sales use Stripe Connect Standard:
- Connect your Stripe account and complete identity verification (KYC) for your organization. You cannot sell paid tickets until charges and payouts are enabled. You use the full Stripe Dashboard.
- The buyer pays by card on Wanepass. You are the seller and merchant of record. The card is charged to your Stripe account.
- Wanepass collects its application fee (3.5%). Stripe deducts its card-processing fee from your payout. Any organizer tax you configured stays with you.
- Stripe pays that balance out to the bank account you linked in Stripe, on Stripe’s payout schedule for your account. Wanepass does not hold card funds on a custom calendar.
Stripe’s own card-processing fees also apply on card payments, typically around 2.9% + $0.30, per Stripe’s pricing. They are not included in the 3.5% platform fee.
Bank transfer / manual
For bank-transfer orders, you mark the order paid after you receive funds off-platform. Those orders do not go through Stripe Connect.
